One act of kindness would be to donate a nonperishable food item or other needed item for the Free Little Pantry Boxes that are currently placed around our community by Becky Clawson [spoke at worship on September 23 to inform us about the program].  If you prefer not to shop or don’t have time, you may make a monetary donation by placing it in the offering plate during the month of October marked Free Little Pantry Boxes and I will shop for you.  There will be a bag in Fellowship Hall and in the back of the sanctuary for your donations.  Some suggested items are: Peanut Butter – Jelly – Cereal – Granola Bars – Pop Tarts – Instant Oatmeal – Macaroni & Cheese – Ramen Noodles – Canned Soups – Boxed Pasta – Fruit or Vegetables – Crackers – Graham Crackers – Peanut Butter & Cheese Crackers – Diapers – Wipes – Detergent – Dryer Sheets – Individually packaged Hand Wipes – Tissues.  If you have any questions, let me know.  Thanks in advance for your support of this outreach project.                                  Julie McAllister

Grace United Methodist Church has had a long tradition of supporting the work of Eastside Community Ministry and the emergency food pantry they operate.  We are continuing that support with our annual Food Drive.  As in the past few years, Eastside has asked that we donate the money. They will then use their buying network to secure the best value for the dollars donated.  This is a wonderful way for our Grace family to share with families in Muskingum County who are in need of basic nourishment.

THANK YOU!  THANK YOU! to everyone who contributed to the food drive to benefit Christ’s Pantry at Eastside Community Ministries to purchase food for the families they assist.  The total received = $6,532.

And from Jamie Trout:

Dear Friends of Eastside,

On behalf of Eastside, I would like to thank you for your generosity! We are so blessed to have your support!  The faith you have in our ministry allows us to continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.  Thank you for helping us create a better community by serving neighbors in need!

Jamie Trout, Exec. Director

Annual Block Party!

In the spring of 1991 at an Administrative Board meeting, it was proposed that a ‘street party’ be planned to celebrate the end of summer.  This would include inviting the congregations of the downtown churches to join us for a time of fellowship.  Over the years, a variety of groups and individuals have performed for the event.

It was soon discovered that the end of August sun was intense so a few tents were used.  By 2001, tents were ordered with tables and chairs brought outside from the church.  Also in 2001, it rained rather hard but the party took place.  It has been cold, hot, windy, and just right but the party never stops!  The number attending has varied over the years.

BLOCK PARTY 2017 — was August 27! It was a perfect day. Thank you to all the volunteers who cooked, served, sang, played and everything in between!

Race for Grace!

Start training now for the Race for Grace 2017!

Club Jesus

Is a ministry that takes place each Sunday night at Euclid United Methodist Church. Recently their attendance has grown dramatically to sometimes up to 90 people! Various committees and individuals prepare the meal on the fourth Sunday of each month. The outreach committee is requesting additional hep from our church family by helping this awesome group with paper products and drink mixes. Please drop your contributions in the office or the baskets in the back of the sanctuary. Club Jesus, thanks you!

 Blanket Ministry

The Nancy Hagan Circle started a blanket ministry…but the entire Grace Church community has joined in this effort and is now making blankets to continue this important ministry.  The director of services of the Genesis Cancer Center said they generally get 10 new patients every week! What a wonderful comfort these blankets can be to those in need in our community. We hope you will consider joining us to continue doing this wonderful outreach. If you are interested in helping out please contact the church office.
